NeverTheLess – April 28, 2019

Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here.  If you are visiting, we invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Vestry Coffeepot   next Sunday, May 5 at 9 am in the parish hall.  Please mark your calendars, and plan to attend this informational meeting.

Car Wash and Lemonade Stand   Is your ride looking pollen-dingy and road-weary?  Need a gift to tell your mom how special she is?  We've got a solution!  The Annual High School Youth Group Car Wash is coming up Saturday, May 11, 8 am - Noon.  No set price, all donations gratefully accepted.  Proceeds will be used to fund the High School Youth Group Hurricane Florence Mission trip this summer.  And we all know that clean cars run better, right?! ... and a Lemonade Stand!   Our younger children want to get in on the fun by hosting a Lemonade Stand from 10am – 12pm.  The children will donate the funds collected to the High School Youth Group Mission Trips.  Parents, if your child(ren) would like to participate, please contact Ana Bajcsi.  …and Pack-A-Pod, a drive to collect pots, pans, and other household items to help St. Peter’s UMC-Montpelier to support CARITAS. Details are on the bulletin boards in our hallway.

“Last Supper” Club?   Supper Club participation seems to be dwindling, and has become a potluck affair in the church once a month.  Please come to the “Last Supper” Club (for this year, anyway) to eat and discuss what Supper Club might look like going forward.  Bring a favorite dish to share.  All are invited.

Ashland Christian Emergency Center (ACES)   we have a bin in the hallway dedicated to donations to ACES; pinned up above the bin is a current list of items ACES folks need most.  Also, ACES is recruiting drivers for Hanover Senior Rides, a volunteer transportation program for seniors.  If you’d like to know more, call (804) 543.6115.

4th Quarter: The Center for Maturing Spirituality    4th Quarter is resuming their activities; if you are interested in exploring any of these programs, please call Beth Harrison at (540) 903.7000.  Gather at the Rectory, unless otherwise noted.  There is no charge, but often food is involved and we want to make sure to have enough.

  • Adult Bible Study – Sundays at 8:45 am
  • Grief and Gratitude – Mondays at 10:30 am
  • Meditation Programming –Tuesdays at 1:30 pm
  • At Home Ashland – Wednesdays at 3 pm (Trackside)

Nametags … we have some new staff, and we’re seeing lots of new visitors.  Please wear your nametag to help the newer folks know who we all are; it is the easiest way to offer radical hospitality!  If you don’t have one, please let Margaret know – 798.6336.

Staying Connected   would you like to receive our weekly news email (Wednesdays) and/or our Weekly Meditation (Fridays), and/or our 4th Quarter email?  If so, please contact Margaret in the office, 798.6336 or to have your email added to our list.
