Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here.  If you are visiting, we invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Nametags … we have some new staff, and we’re seeing lots of new visitors.  Please wear your nametag to help the newer folks know who we all are; it is the easiest way to offer radical hospitality!  If you don’t have one, please let Margaret know – 798.6336.

Poinsettias   If you would like to honor a loved one with a poinsettia on the altar for Christmas, please let Margaret know (798.6336 or by Thursday, December 20.   The list of memorials and thanksgivings will be printed in the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day bulletins.

Monthly Birthday Parties   starting in January, once a month on the second Sunday of the month, the folks who have a birthday in that month get to decide together how to acknowledge it!  TODAY at 11:30 in Brydon Hall, find your birthday month on a table and talk with your other birth month celebrators to plan your party!

Bluegrass Mass   TONIGHT at 5 pm, join us for a little preachin’ and a whole lot of beautiful bluegrass music.  Invite a friend, all are welcome!

Fourth Quarter: The Center for Elder Spirituality    The Fourth Quarter of our lives asks much of us – how will we use this time?  Please check out our new bulletin board in the hallway, where there are brief descriptions of our courses and activities.

Red Hats & ROMEOs Combined Christmas Party – Tuesday, December 18, 11:30 in Brydon Hall.  Details to follow soon!

Stewardship Update:  As of Monday, November 26, we have received 83 pledges totaling $296,000.00  Thank you to everyone who has pledged so far.

Christmas And Epiphany at SJTL  

  • On Thursday, December 20, at 11 AM, kids of all ages are invited to join Father Rock in the library for hot cocoa and seasonal story-telling.  Invite a friend, all are welcome!
  • December 24, Christmas Eve – 4:30 PM, a festive family communion service; 10:30 PM, the Christ-Mass and Holy Eucharist.  Come early, at 10:15, for seasonal music.
  • December 25, Christmas Day – 10 AM, come-as-you-are (up to and including your jammies!) Holy Eucharist.
  • January 6, Epiphany – 10 AM, Epiphany Play, in the church; 4 PM at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, a Community Epiphany Fair, with Arts, Crafts, and goodies for the whole family; 5 PM, also at Duncan Memorial UMC, a Community Epiphany Service.  Invite a friend, all are welcome.


Ashland Christian Emergency Center (ACES)   we have a bin in the hallway dedicated to donations to ACES; pinned up above the bin is a current list of items ACES folks need most.

Peter Paul Development Center and Hanover ARC    we are “adopting” 14 children this Christmas; there are boxes for donations, and near them, charts about the children’s clothing sizes and Christmas wishes.  PPDC prefers unwrapped gifts, and they should be delivered by Dec. 16; Hanover ARC asks for the gifts to be wrapped, and dropped off by Dec. 19.  Thank you for your kind hearts.
