NeverTheLess – February 12, 2017

Welcome to All, especially if you are visiting us today.  We are delighted to have you here. We invite everyone to wear a nametag.  If you don’t have one, please see an usher or a greeter for assistance.

The Annual Meeting   The Annual Meeting of the Parish is TODAY, at 11:30 in Brydon Hall.  We will hear from Anna on her vision for St. James the Less, and we will elect our vestry.

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes   Circles Ashland is offering a POVERTY SIMULATION event at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland TODAY from 2:00-4:30 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.  This is an opportunity to move around the room, interacting with others as you navigate and experience the struggles, frustrations, and realities of life in poverty.  Please RSVP to the church office at St. Ann's (798-5039).

Lenten Programming coming soon!  Anna will lead a five-part spirituality series in Lent using creativity to get in touch with God. Duplicate sessions of Active Creative Spiritual Practices will be offered in Brydon Hall on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., beginning March 5, or Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m., beginning March 7. Tuesday evening sessions will include a simple soup supper followed by the program.  These offerings are free, and no experience is necessary! Sessions build on one another, though each is independent, for those not able or interested in attending all. Everyone is welcome, including friends from the community. Registration is required, however, so that materials can be purchased.

What’s All the Hype About Pop Tops?  St James the Less is once again collecting and saving Pop Tops for the Richmond Ronald McDonald House.  Please keep up the momentum.  Any pop top will do:  soup cans, soda cans, dog / cat food cans ...  Keep 'em coming!  The Sunday School wants to deliver the best year ever to the Ronald McDonald House in memory of Charlotte Reynolds.

Scheduling Reminder:  Anna is usually off and out of the office on Fridays and Saturdays.  If you have a pastoral emergency on one of those days or during the evening, please call the rectory's landline:  (804) 299.3730.  If she is not there, please leave a message.  You may also contact the Senior Warden who will be in touch with her directly.  As well, Anna does not have access to her church email off-site, so if you email her after about 5:00 on Thursdays, she will not get that email until Sunday morning at the earliest, and possibly, not until Monday, depending on her Sunday schedule.
