Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here.  If you are visiting, we invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Blakemore Memorial Service   the service to remember and celebrate the life of the Rev. Barbara Blakemore will be here at SJTL on Saturday, August 4 at 2 pm.  A reception will immediately follow the service, in Brydon Hall.  Please bring a favorite finger food to share.  If you are able to help with set-up and/or clean up, please let Randy Marshall know.

Faith Night with the Flying Squirrels!   Thursday, August 9th is Faith and Family Night at The Diamond!  If we can get a group of at least 20 fans, we can get group seating prices and our name on the jumbotron!  There is also live pre-game music, and fireworks following the game.  Group rate General Admission tickets are $5.50/person.  Please let Margaret know how many tickets you’d like by end of business day, Wednesday, August 1, and LET’S GO NUTTS!! 



Temporary Change of Venue for Post-Eucharist Breakfast   Ashland Coffee and Tea will be closed for renovations, August 1- 18 or so.  While closed, please plan to have breakfast here, in Brydon Hall after the 7:30 am Holy Eucharist/Morning Prayer.  If your last name starts A- H, please bring a favorite breakfast food to share on August 1.  Those with last names I - P, you're on for August 8.  And those with Q - Z, please bring something for August 15.



Wanted - Warm Smiles and Hearty Handshakes    Summer is a great time to try on a new role in our Sunday mornings.  Ushering is an easy, yet vitally important, role to the smooth running of Sunday worship.  If you are interested, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board at Information Central, or contact Margaret in the office.  Sign up for a week or 2, or a whole month. 



Lunches for Kids    The YMCA is working to help disadvantaged children in our community get lunch during the summer weekdays.  If you can help for a day, or a week, or more, please contact Janet Taylor, who is spearheading this vital community effort.  



Vacation Bible School is Just around the corner!    Come discover God's peace this summer at Vacation Bible School. VBS will be held August 13-16 from 5:30-7:30 at St. James the Less for preschool-rising 5th graders.  Sign up for VBS:  Please sign up your children now so we can plan for supplies and food.   Volunteers needed for VBS:  We need lots of hands to make VBS happen for our children.  Please consider your ability to help in the following ways: kitchen, assist teaching lessons – creative and active, or general help with children.  Look for signup forms at church and/or please contact Ragan Dyer at
