NeverTheLess – March 3, 2019

Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here.  If you are visiting, we invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Lenten Evening Programming – Learning Lab   This year for Lent we will have fun evenings of learning and activity. We will spend the first half of our time looking at the meaning of our seasons in the liturgical year, one a night, and some of their peculiarities.  Why does the priest bang on the door at the start of the Easter Vigil? Or, why is Advent considered a penitential period of time? These, and so many other questions, will be revealed. And after digging into these, we will pray. Every week we will look at a different form of prayer, and do it. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and because of our uniqueness, we all connect with God in different ways. Mark your calendars for family-friendly evening programming on Tuesdays starting March 12, and continuing through Lent. We'll start with a simple supper at 6:30 pm, and programming will start at 7 pm.  Ashley Harrison will guide the children through their own, age-appropriate Lenten journey at the same time.

Volunteers still needed to help with Lenten Simple Supper:  soup-makers, salad tossers, bread bakers, setter-upppers, and cleaner-uppers, there are volunteer opportunities for the Tuesday evenings.  Sign up in the hallway, or call Jenny Bruce, 798.0922

And then, on Wednesday evenings, at least through Lent, we start a Latino ministry program, also at 7 pm. ¡Invita a tus amigos! ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

4th Quarter: The Center for Maturing Spirituality    4th Quarter is resuming their activities; if you are interested in exploring any of these programs, please call Beth Harrison at (540) 903.7000.  Gather at the Rectory, unless otherwise noted.  There is no charge, but often food is involved and we want to make sure to have enough.

Nametags … we have some new staff, and we’re seeing lots of new visitors.  Please wear your nametag to help the newer folks know who we all are; it is the easiest way to offer radical hospitality!  If you don’t have one, please let Margaret know – 798.6336.
