NeverTheLess – October 1, 2017

Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here. Nametags are an outward symbol of radical hospitality.  If you don’t have one, please see an usher or a greeter for assistance.  If you are visiting, we also invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Office Schedule Reminder  Margaret is out of the office September 28 - October 2.

Sexual Misconduct Against Children Prevention Training   We will be holding a training TODAY, OCTOBER 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the Library.  This is REQUIRED by the Diocese for all teachers/volunteers/keepers of youth and children during ANY church activity, Vestry members, and paid staff. Once taken, your certification is good for 10 years. All adults are encouraged to be trained so they can work with children and youth. Parents should be trained to know what to look for in sexual predators. We will be offering this again in the coming months, but several new teachers/volunteers needed this as soon as possible. Please RSVP so we have enough copies of materials and certificates.

TODAY! Canned Goods Scavenger Hunt for ACES.   This evening the high school youth group will be 'competing' in their annual Scavenger Hunt for ACES.  After their meal together at 6pm, they will head out in small teams to parishioners’ and neighbors’ homes to gather canned goods and other non-perishable for items for the cupboards at Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES).  We wanted to let you know that they may show up at your doorstep between 6:30-7:30pm requesting donation of items.  The team that brings home the most goods 'wins' in this good-spirited, small gesture of support for those in our community in need.  Please let a high schooler know we should stop by your house if you would like to donate.  We greatly appreciate your generosity!!  For more information on high school youth group, please contact Aleta Meyer or Rebecca Cline

Join us for SJTL Fall Work Day!  Can you Paint? Wash Walls & Windows?  Are You Handy with Power Tools?    On Saturday, October 7, we will come together to beautify our grounds and building.  This is stewardship, too, a donation of your time and talent.  There is a sign-up sheet at Information Central for specific needs around our church and grounds, or contact Rebecca Cline,

St. Francis’ Blessing of the Animals   please bring your slinky, scaly, furry, finned, and/or feathered family members to a blessing of animals on Sunday, October 8 at 5:30 pm  All are welcome.

Gratitudes from the Stewardship Committee:  Each week we will give thanks to parishioners who exemplify the spirit of giving back to God in thankfulness for His generosity.  Our heartfelt thanks to:  Tom Fritter, Clint Rose, and Dale Hill, for their outstanding dedication to maintaining our beautiful buildings and grounds.  Thanks, Tom, Clint, and Dale!
