NeverTheLess – October 15, 2017

Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here. Nametags are an outward symbol of radical hospitality.  If you don’t have one, please see an usher or a greeter for assistance.  If you are visiting, we also invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

Congregational Meeting/Coffee Pot   please plan to attend a Coffee Pot with Karen Salter on Sunday, November 12, immediately following 10:00 church.

Inquirers' Class Sundays at 6:00 starting Oct. 22    Have you ever thought of becoming a member of St. James the Less, or have you wanted to be confirmed? Starting Sunday, October 22 at 6 to 7:30 pm in the Library Father Rock will be leading an Inquirers' Class for those who wish to officially be a part of St. James the Less and the Episcopal Church. It will run 4 weeks (Oct 22, 29, Nov 5 and 12). This will be in preparation for the Bishop's visit on Christmas Eve morning. Teens in High School through adults of any age can participate. Please contact Father Rock to reserve a space or if you have any questions.

Bible Study/Adult Formation    meets Sundays at 8:45 am in the Rectory.  The current discussion is about Noah, and rainbows.  All are welcome!

Soap for the Deacons of the Diocese of Virginia Prison Ministry    We are collecting full-size bars of soap for the deacons of the Diocese to distribute in their work at the prisons around Virginia.  Something we take for granted is a much appreciated blessing to those who use soap for bathing and washing their clothes.  A bag is outside Father Rock's office. These will be delivered Nov. 4.

Peter Paul Development Center   is beginning to collect food items to help their families with Thanksgiving.  There is a bin, and a list of suggested items, at Information Central, for your donations.

Volunteer Opportunities   We in the office are going to resume holding staff meetings on Wednesdays at 9:30 am.  If you are available to answer phones and receive deliveries for about an hour on Wednesday mornings, we'd appreciate your help in the office.  Please contact Margaret in the office, 798.6336. if interested.

We also can use volunteers for Sunday morning - we especially need ushers for November.  Sign up at Information Central or contact Margaret in the office.

Gratitudes from the Stewardship Committee:  Each week we give thanks to parishioners who exemplify the spirit of giving back to God in thankfulness for His generosity.  Our heartfelt thanks to:  Steve Pace, for his nearly 40 years of service as Acolyte Master.  Thanks, Steve!
