Our Music Program

In the Episcopal Church, our theology is found in two places: the Book of Common Prayer and in our hymnals. The texts of our hymns and the anthems sung by the choirs serve to support the readings of the day and to emphasize the seasons of the liturgical year.

The ADULT CHOIR meets on Thursday evenings at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 9am. We sing for the 10am services throughout the program year (Sept-June) plus a few special services. We sing a whole range of music—from some of the earliest chants to music written last year. This choir is open to singers 9th grade and up. All that is required is a love of singing and the willingness and ability to participate in rehearsals. Contact Paul Robb for more information.

The ST. CECILIA CHILDREN’S CHOIR is open to children starting in kindergarten. This choir rehearses on Thursday afternoons from 4:30-5:15pm and sings once a month at the 10am service. In the St. Cecilia Children’s Choir, one of our main goals is to give children a love of singing, plus a way to participate fully in the liturgy. This in turn helps them to become adults who fully participate in the liturgy. Contact Joanne Robb for more information.

The ST. JAMES THE LESS RINGERS rehearse on an as needed basis on Thursday evenings at 6pm. This is a fun and low pressure group who ring our handbells for services during the year. An ability to read music at an elementary level is helpful but not required. Contact Paul Robb for more information.

There is a musical group that meets your level of skill and commitment. Please come and try us out.
